OUR NEW REEF SANK MAY 17th 2006
Escambia County, FL was chosen on April 5, 2004, to be the final destination for the "Oriskany" Reef Project. The USS Oriskany CV/CVA-34 is destined to become an artificial reef.
These Ships are about 480 ft. Long and about 75-80 ft. Wide

These Sites are made up of old Bridge remains. The most popular have been given nicknames. They make excellent Dive Sites for Photographers as well as Spearfisherman.
• Road Bed:
• Rome: 14 Miles south of Perdido Pass in 90fsw. Rome is some of the remains of the old Perdido Pass bridge. It gets it's name because of the columns that are standing straight up resembling Romans ruins. This site holds a lot of fish including Amberjack, Red and Black Snapper, Flounder and Grouper. Also a good number of tropical fish such as Angel fish. This is a Great Dive Site for the more advanced diver.

Navy Dive Tenders / YDT's 14 & 15
Navy Dive Tenders YDT-14 and her sister ship
YDT-15 were sunk as artificial reefs in April of 2000, They both sit upright, 300’ apart approximately 24 miles ESE of Perdido Pass. Depths range from 65' at the superstructure and 98' to the sand. These wrecks are great for a Wreck Diving Course, and a Great Dive in general.

This 65 ft. long push tug is located 14 N.M. east-southeast of P.P. in 72 fsw
This pictures wreck sits upright in 85 fsw about 18 miles from P.P.
NATURAL BOTTOM SITES

This large reef area lies roughly 20 miles dew south of Perdido Pass. Area has been enhanced with artificial reefs in some areas. This is a favorite site for spearfisherman.
(Always pull a Flag when on a beach Dive and stay out of boat traffic)
Alabama Point Bridge
Under East or West end. You need to dive this one on high tide because of current.
Alabama Point Sea Wall
Located along the west side of the Perdido Pass. Dive at high tide or do a drift dive at out going tide because of current.
Alabama Point Jetties
Located on both East and West side of Perdido Pass. West side is beyond the Sea Wall; East side is beyond the beach.
Located behind Bahama Bob's Restaurant on west beach in Gulf Shores.
